Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

Aashiyana Arts provide interactive dance workshops for the early years foundation stage children. Sohan Kailey specialises in dance for early years and combines the use of music, movement, story and role play. The fun and enjoyable participatory sessions enable children to use their imaginations and be creative....playing whilst learning.

Sohan explores the use of storytelling with the power of dance, movement, gesture, voice, song and music to motivate children!
Children love reading books and looking at the colourful pictures...
so why not bring these wonderful characters to life.

Bhangra Tots and Bollywood Tots

Enjoy Bhangra music and dance for children.

For Early Years Foundation Stage and Reception:
A fun and enjoyable way for young children to learn about Bhangra dancing, exercise and interact with storytelling and dance.
The children and staff take part in an interactive story telling and dance where they go on a journey to India on a magic carpet, listen to music and learn some new Bhangra dancing movements.
Through these fun and enjoyable sessions participants can:
  • Learn about the cultural origins of Bhangra dance
  • Dance along to lively music
  • Listen to a short story
  • Meet Bhangra bunny and friends (puppets)
  • Wiggle, giggle & dance
  • Learn & play

Bhangra is an agricultural dance from the Punjab region of India. It's roots are embedded within the farming community. Sohan share's the history of Bhangra in a story using dance movements and music in a fun and enjoyable way so that children in the early years foundation stage can understand and follow.

Myths and Legends from around the world
For Early Years Foundation Stage and Reception:
An exciting opportunity for children to engage in myths and legends from medieval England to right across the world.

Fun, educational workshops and sessions enable children to:
  • Take a journey to the Enchanted Forest, Emerald Forest
  • See Enchanted Dragons, Elves, Fairies, Unicorns puppets
  • Listen to Mythical stories
  • Create their own story book characters
  • Take part in creative movements and dance

Exciting workshops which enable children to stretch their imaginations, work in pairs and groups. Encourage creativity and boost reading and writing skills.

Rainforest & Jungle Adventure

For Early Years Foundation Stage
An exciting opportunity for children to dance using themes from the rainforest and jungle. A creative journey using imagination and story telling.

Through workshops participants can....

  • Explore the jungle/rainforest

The workshops help to boost imagination and encourage creative dance and play. Children love to hear different sounds from the jungle and rainforest.
Choose a theme be it South American Amazon River, 
African wild safari, Indian Jungle or another part of the world.

An exciting opportunity for children to dance using themes from the ocean and under the sea. A creative journey using imagination and story telling.
Through workshops participants can....

  • Learn about the planets, shooting stars, meteorites

Diwali - Hindu Festival of Lights

Diwali the Festival of Lights celebrated throughout October and November.
For Early Years Foundation Stage
Learn about the Hindu festival of Lights through dance, movement, drama and Interactive story-telling. Get ready for the great adventure between Gods and Demons in this exciting Indian epic.

Further promotes listening, communication skills, reading, writing, understanding the world, learning through the arts about cultural celebrations and teaches good values. Aladdin on the flying carpet in this great adventure and explore the magic of the Bollywood cave! Make a Wish....

There will be storytelling, performance and participation with lively music and dance. Lots of fun for all the family in this enjoyable adaptation.
