Groundwork Green Spaces Project
Green Play Rangers:
Sohan Kailey Bhangra Dance Artist comissioned for Groundwork Black Country, an environmental charity.
The project: Green Play Rangers (lottery funded programme).
It is delivered after school and during holidays at different parks and open spaces around Sandwell.
The target audience is 8-11 year olds although younger and older children do participate in sessions. Activities are varied and include environmental games and physical activities, environmental arts and crafts and den building.

Sohan was the chosen artist to engage and support the project and provide activities during the school holiday and after school sessions.
Sohan Kailey said about the project,
"This was an amazing project. I have always wanted to use the outdoor open spaces and green spaces in a creative way. We worked with children from 8-11 and some even younger and engaged them into cultural Bhangra dancing. We reached out further afield to the wider community. Participants danced along to the Bhangra beat, played instruments and heard interesting traditional Indian stories. It was also wonderful to have worked with The Green Play Rangers and Groundwork who have been very supportive from the beginning."
